About Me: Engineering Manager (EM) with 20 Years of Expertise

Hello, I am an Engineering Manager (EM) specializing in Plant and Offshore Civil/Structural Engineering for nearly two decades. While my core focus has been on design management rather than construction execution, I have spent a significant portion of my career as a Field Engineer at various domestic and international sites.

Bridging the Gap: From Design Office to the Field Working on-site at global projects taught me a vital lesson: the gap between a drawing and reality. Even the most theoretically perfect design can face unexpected challenges during the actual construction phase. As a Field Engineer, I learned how to identify and resolve these discrepancies first-hand. This experience allowed me to develop a unique perspective on “design for constructability,” ensuring that technical plans are not just accurate on paper, but practical in the field.

Mentoring the Next Generation of Engineers Having started my career without a dedicated mentor, I understand the struggle of self-study and trial-and-error. By embracing every challenge and learning from domestic and overseas field experiences, I have grown from a junior designer to an Engineering Manager who now guides complex projects and leads technical teams. I created this blog to share these hard-earned insights so that young engineers can climb the professional ladder faster and more efficiently than I did.
